Grant Applications

The Verdant Health Commission is now accepting funding applications for programs matching its priorities. A list of Frequently Asked Questions can be found here: FAQs (pdf).

Types of Funding and How to Apply

1. Project and Capital Support
(Accepting proposals on an ongoing basis)

This category provides funding for project, capital, and one-time expenses tied to the Verdant Health Commission’s priorities. Applicable uses of funds include events, expenses for one-time or short-term needs in the community, equipment and capital investments.

2. Multi-Year Health Program Support
(Accepting proposals on an ongoing basis)

This category provides funding to support and expand health and wellness programs in our district. Programs will be selected via a competitive process and are renewable based on performance and results.

3. Building Healthy Communities Fund
(Not currently accepting proposals)

The Verdant Health Commission previously accepted funding proposals through its Building Healthy Communities Fund. The purpose of the fund is to support projects in South Snohomish County that create long-lasting community health improvements. Verdant sought out larger projects that increase community capacity and are more permanent improvements. The projects funded through the Building Healthy Communities Fund require significant improvements in community infrastructure and will provide long-term benefits for community members. 4. Behavioral Health Prevention Initiative
(Not currently accepting proposals)

As part of a comprehensive needs assessment, Verdant determined that behavioral health was one of the top community needs, and the purpose of this funding availability is to support programs in South Snohomish County that prevent substance abuse and mental illness. Evaluation Criteria

Programs must:

  • Show a strong connection to the Commission’s mission and priorities
  • Define potential measurable results
  • Demonstrate a clear connection between programs activities and results
  • Primarily serve Verdant Health Commission / Public Hospital District No. 2, Snohomish County residents. View the district map to verify our area served.

Preference for programs that:

  • Leverage other resources
  • Are evidence-based
  • Use innovative strategies
  • Are sustainable
  • Partner with others in the community

Only complete applications will be considered for funding.
