Heart Month: Learn about the DASH diet for blood pressure, cholesterol

February is Heart Month, and what better way to take care of your heart than to take better control of your blood pressure and cholesterol? The Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Diet is a flexible and balanced eating plan that helps create a heart-healthy eating style for life. This approach has been shown to be beneficial particularly if you’re trying to lower your blood pressure, cholesterol or meet a healthy weight.

The Verdant Health Commission and Swedish Edmonds are hosting a nutrition education class from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th St. SW in Lynnwood. The class is free, but registration is required. Sign up online at the registration website.
